With a new PlayStation and Xbox slated to come out later this year, 2020 is going to be a fantastic year for hard-core gamers with many new crime and action thriller titles to be released for both consoles and PC.
We will soon release our review of the most anticipated games in 2020 but for now, if you’re wondering what games we have been playing and feeling excited about, check out the following titles:
Man of Medan
This is a drama survival horror game developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It is the first of eight planned installments in The Dark Pictures Anthology series.
The main plot of Man of Medan is presented as an unfinished story in the possession of the omnipresent Curator (Pip Torrens), who requests the player’s assistance in completing it. The story centers on five individuals partaking in an underwater diving expedition to find a submerged WWII plane wreck in the South Pacific Ocean.
Outer Wilds
Outer Wilds is a 2019 action-adventure game developed by Mobius Digital and published by Annapurna Interactive. In the game, the player-character finds themselves on a planet with only 22 minutes before the local sun goes supernova and kills them.
The player continually repeats this 22-minute cycle by learning details that can help alter the outcome on later playthroughs.
Control
Control is an action-adventure video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games. The game revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), a secret U.S. government agency tasked with containing and studying phenomena which violate the laws of reality.
As Jesse Faden (Courtney Hope), the Bureau’s new Director, players explore the Oldest House – the FBC’s paranormal headquarters – and utilize powerful abilities in order to defeat a deadly enemy known as the Hiss, which has invaded and corrupted reality.
Red Dead Redemption 2
This game doesn’t really need an introduction. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the third entry in the Red Dead series and is a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption.
The story is set in 1899 in a fictionalized representation of the Western, Midwestern and Southern United States and follows outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang.
Arthur must deal with the decline of the Wild West whilst attempting to survive against government forces, rival gangs, and other adversaries. The story also follows fellow gang member John Marston, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption.
Telling Lies
One of our favorite PC games in the last couple of years. Telling Lies uses live action full-motion video of four people (played by Logan Marshall-Green, Alexandra Shipp, Kerry Bishé, and Angela Sarafyan) as part of video calls made between them, and the player will need to use tools provided from the game to piece together events and what statements may be lies to determine the overall mystery.
Observation
Observation is an adventure-puzzle video game developed for PC by Scottish studio No Code and published by Devolver Digital. The game, described as sci-fi thriller, puts the player in control of a space station AI in order to recover from the sudden, mysterious loss of its crew.
